Sites based on Norfolk Island

History
Material on the remarkable history of Norfolk Island and its people, with four successive occupations, is now largely stored and showcased on the website of the Norfolk Island Historical Society, although there is a flexible demarcation against this site. This website went live in January 2024 following endorsement by the Council of Elders in August 2023. Much of the material previously here such as genealogy is being transferred to its new website

People and culture

Norfolk Island Living Library. This site, based at Norfolk Island’s Central School, aimed to access a database of resources including print, moving images, sound recordings, maps …. and people!

Natalie French-Quintal’s Norfolk Island Research & Genealogy Centre.

The website of Norfolk Island’s Society of Pitcairn Descendants has an extensive gallery of photographs, among other information.

Agriculture and food security

The Food and Farming Alliance is establishing an archive of knowledge about the cultivation of edible plants and livestock, including a list of species and varieties available on Island. Material such as papers and presentations arising from the “Home Grown” food security workshops in November 2022 are progressively being shifted.

The EcoNorfolk Foundation is no longer active.
