The website of the Norfolk Island Flora and Fauna Society is the “go to” website for information about the natural resources and environment of Norfolk Island. However, some resources are published or re-published here for the convenience of researchers and casual enquirers.
Freshwater resources
For example, Emeritus Professor Angela Arthington and her sister Dr Felicity Cutten visited the Island in 2025. Dr Cutten penned a charming travelogue which has been published on this site and is available in print from the Knowledge and Learning Centre.
Prof Arthington compiled a publication of a different kind. She consulted widely with residents and experts including CSIRO about the freshwater resources of the Island and coordinated the preparation of a scientific paper which was published in February 2026 in the prestigious international journal Frontiers in Environmental Science.
